Blockbuster Deal Alert: Celebrate National Cinema Day 2023 with Movie Tickets at Just Rs. 99 on October 13!

This Friday, October 13, is National Cinema Day - and movie tickets are gonna be super cheap! Everywhere across the country, you can get a ticket for just Rs. 99. Over 4,000 participating cinema halls, including the popular PVR Inox, Cinepolis, Movie Time, City Pride, and more, will have special offers on snacks and drinks. It's a chance to celebrate the box office successes of this year and a way to get more people to come back to the theatre.

The Multiplex Association of India (MAI) said it's a thank you to all the moviegoers who've contributed to the success and an invitation to those who haven't returned to their local cinema. Last year, 6.5 million people rushed into theatres to take advantage of the Rs. 75 tickets - and this year the cost is a bit higher, but you still won't find a better deal than Rs. 99! Unfortunately, premium formats like IMAX, 4DX, or recliner seats will be included in the on the price tag of  ₹75.

This year's event has been pushed back by a month, probably to make sure that the Jawa
an movie won't be affected by the cheap ticket prices. This happened last year too because some people wanted Brahmāstra to make some money before the festival started. We don't know if the ticket price includes internet or GST charges yet, which BookMyShow will likely add on top. The event's official website has random clips from US films but the Indian theatres will have local movies in different languages. PVR Inox had a great July with three Hollywood hits and Hindi flicks still lagging. We can expect a similar Pathaan boost in October when Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue with Akshay Kumar comes out. Hollywood is bringing Saw X and The Creator to fight for the top spot. We'll know more about the event closer to October 13 when the theatre websites update.
