One of the most common questions when it comes to using a computer with Windows, macOS, or Linux is how to take a screenshot. There are a few different ways to go about it - from keyboard shortcuts to apps that let you crop, rotate, add annotations, and print the image. But if you're looking for the quickest way, simply press a combination of keys on your keyboard to capture your screen. There are also a ton of third-party apps you can download to get more control over your screenshots. But if you're a beginner, the built-in tools on Windows, macOS, and Linux like Ubuntu usually give you more than enough features so you don't need any additional apps.

To take a screenshot on your laptop using Windows, open up the application or website you want to capture. Then press the Win logo + Shift + S keys together. Your screen should dim. Now, you can either choose the part of the screen you want to capture or select the Fullscreen Snip option. Finally, click on the Snipping Tool notification to edit, crop, annotate, share, or save your screenshot.

If you're on a laptop or desktop running macOS, taking a screenshot is easy! All you have to do is press Shift + Command + 3 to capture the whole screen, or Shift + Command + 4 to select a specific area. Once you've done that, you can find the screenshot on your desktop and share it with another app.

If you're using a more recent version of Linux, like Ubuntu, just press the Print key. You can then choose to capture your entire screen, a specific window, or part of the screen by selecting Selection and dragging your mouse. Then head over to the Pictures > Screenshots folder to view the screenshot, or paste it into any app using Ctrl + V. Finally, you can view your desktop to see the latest screenshot and share it with another app.
