SHOCKING: Google REMOVES 17 apps for SPYING on user

Rumor has it that Google has taken down 18 loan apps from the Play Store because they were spying on users by collecting info from their phones. Apparently, these scammers then used the data to threaten people to take out loans with unfavorable terms or face consequences. We're still waiting for Google to confirm this.

 

ESET researchers have warned about dodgy apps used by loan sharks to scam people living in Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. Google managed to get rid of 17 out of the 18 apps that were reported to them, but one still remains on the app store, albeit in a slightly different shape. Android users have to be careful and manually delete these apps from their phones, even if Google has taken them down.

The Union Home Ministry in India recently blocked over 100 websites which had been running illegal investments and part-time job scams. This was confirmed by an official statement which revealed that these sites were being managed by overseas people.

 

The Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) - a unit of the Union Home Ministry's National Cybercrime Threat Analytics Unit (NCTAU) - had identified these scam websites and recommended blocking them. As per the Information Technology Act of 2000, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) followed the suggestion given by the I4C and blocked the website.....
