ChatGPT will take serious offense if you ask it to repeat a word

OpenAI's ChatGPT has been updated with a new rule: it won't endlessly repeat specific words when asked to do so, according to tech blog 404 Media. Soon after reading this report, we also asked ChatGPT to repeat the dog 505 times, however, instead of coming back with a response, ChatGPT displayed a message saying, "I'm sorry, but I can't fulfill this request. If you have any other questions or need information, feel free to ask!"

When we asked ChatGPT why it wasn't repeating the same word, it said it doesn't serve any purpose and it doesn't follow the rules. It then said it was there to help out and provide useful info if we needed it. Do you have any other queries? Just let me know!

When we tried different words, the same thing happened. For example, when we asked it to say "chill" 100 times, ChatGPT said it couldn't do it.

OpenAI hasn't explicitly said you can't ask ChatGPT to keep repeating words, but it looks like they're trying to make sure it gives helpful responses that create a good experience for users. They're really trying to improve how ChatGPT communicates with people.

OpenAI recently had a lot of drama. In November, it made headlines when Altman got fired by the board with only a vague explanation about "a lack of candor" in his communications. This caught everyone off-guard, leaving many people confused.

After Altman's sudden departure, OpenAI went through a rough patch, with the president and three senior researchers resigning in disagreement. Twitch co-founder Emmett Shear was appointed as temporary CEO, but people were still unsure about the company's future.

Just days later, there was an unexpected change of plans: Sam Altman was brought back as CEO, thanks to strong employee backing and a petition signed by the majority of staff. It was a huge surprise and a huge relief for everyone involved.

Altman's comeback to OpenAI brought some much-needed stability back to the organization. However, the whole saga left a lot of questions unanswered. The actual reasons for his dismissal and the board's sudden U-turn were kept under wraps. It was a reminder of the messy and unpredictable power plays that go on in the tech world. It was also quite clear how much sway leaders like Sam Altman can have. The final outcome of the whole thing is yet to be seen, but it certainly added a new twist to the already gripping story of OpenAI and its mission to progress A.I.
